Theoretical exam

All theoretical tests are only carried out on the PC . A total of thirteen languages are offered.

 

Basically, the only thing that matters in the theoretical exam is learning, the more frequently and intensively you practice, the higher your chance of success.

 

Before the exam you have to take a free preliminary test in the driving school and of course we will only register you for the theoretical test if you both pass the preliminary test and we are convinced that you can do it.

 

The theoretical exam can be taken at least 3 months before reaching the minimum age.

Important Information

From October 1st, 2023, theoretical exams in NRW can only be taken without an appointment during opening hours:
Wuppertal
Mondays / 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. 
Thursdays / 08:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Mettmann
Wednesdays / 08:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Solingen
Tuesdays / 11:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Remscheid
Mondays / 11:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Velbert
Thursdays / 12:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m

Dusseldorf (Garath)
Tuesdays / 08:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Dusseldorf (Moersenbroich)
Wednesdays / 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m
Fridays / 08:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Requirements for the theory test:
  1. Proof of training transmitted electronically (from the driving school)
  2. TÜV fee paid (in the driving school)
  3. Closing date depends on the number of applicants (take the number)
  4. If points 1 and/or 2 are not observed, the applicant will be sent out
    (if there is no exam, a new number may be drawn upon clarification)
  5. Opening time is not the same as acceptance time
    (due to change of examiner to another location)

Please register with the driving school before you take your theory test.

At the same time, TÜV Rheinland is returning to the regional principle, i.e. an applicant can only take the test in the area in whose FE office the test order is located.
